Earth in Her Heart
There is earth in her heart
She is made of stone
Nothing can get to her
She. Is. A. Rock.
Although she is tiny
She can pack a punch
Her tongue is like a dagger
She listens to no one
She was treated like a child
Guarded like a hawk
She could do so much more
But she couldn’t leave
Then he came along
His life as free as air
He needed her
And she needed him
When he extended his hand
She took it without question
She needed a new life
Outside of her cage
She told her parents
“I am strong
I don’t need protection
Please let me go.”
Her parents were scared
Thinking she was helpless
They denied her
She ran away
She is independent
Unmoving, like the earth
Her attitude’s like a knife
She. Is. A. Rock.
