Our little town
All hidden away
Behind the Sister
and Battle hills
The spine of the town
Chicago Street
Where main street stores
with their merch and wares
and residentials meet
The houses and the buildings
of original wood and
sandstone make
The pines and the cottons
the ashes and the elms
line every path to take
Hidden in plain sight
are many stairs
So difficult, so easy
to see
Stone paved steps
that lead to the old school
Rotted remains of stairs
that would only tempt a fool
Hidden steps
'round Minnekatah's corner
or the steep steps leading to the castle
that shall never be returned to their former
Our pride, our paradise
welcome all to leave
But don't be surprised when you leave
That you'll find you miss what you've seen
Beauty in all seasons
Oblivious to all sound reason
Lies our little town
Among the hills.
